Therese L. (Brodeur) Hodgeman, 88 Lived in Townsend; member of St. John’s Church Sentinel & Enterprise TOWNSEND — Therese Laurette (Brodeur) Hodgeman 88, of 10 Bow St., formerly of East Montpelier, Vt., and Lyndonville, Vt., died Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Keystone Center , Leominster.

Born in Canada on December 24, 1917, she was the daughter of Joseph and Helena (Chabot) Brodeur. She lived much of her life in Vermont before moving to the area 25 years ago.

Mrs. Hodgeman owned and operated a propane gas and appliance store in Vermont for many years. She later worked for the Caledonia Gas Co. in Lyndonville, Virginia, where she retired in 1966.

She was a member of St. John’s Church in Townsend and the Townsend Golden Agers.

She is survived by two sisters, Rita I. Porter of Townsend and Yvette Fedele of Newport, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of Elwin Hodgeman, who died in July 1965. She was the sister of the late Joan Blanchette of Newport, NH, Paul Brodeur of Charlestown, NH, and Lucien Brodeur of Westfield.

HODGEMAN – On Jan. 15, Therese L. (Brodeur) Hodgeman, 88, of Townsend. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Church, 1 School St., Townsend. Spring burial will be in Lowell (Vt.) Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the TJ Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St. (Route 119), Townsend Center.
