MCRAE-HELENA, Ga. (41NBC/WMGT) -An inmate at Telfair State Prison is dead after an altercation on Saturday. This is evident from a press release from the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Although the investigation is still in its preliminary stages, GDC confirms that Lamar Wilson was killed following injuries sustained during an altercation with another inmate.

Investigators believe Wilson was the aggressor.

His body was turned over to the county coroner and taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the official cause of death.
