Rodney Paul Buffington

Rodney Paul Buffington 64, of Springfield Twp. died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Lukes – Lower Saucon Twp. He is the husband of Dianne (Sowell) Buffington. Born in Harrisburg on April 22, 1947, the son of the late Paul Buffington and Helen (Erdmann) McMinn. He was one of the founders and later worked in Business Development for Bronkhorst USA, Bethlehem, whose parent company is based in the Netherlands. Rod previously worked in sales for Brooks Instrument Div. for 35 years, retiring in 2005. He is a graduate of Manheim Central High School and received his engineering degree from Wiedner University, Media. He was an alumnus of the Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corp, Instrument Society of America, an avid Red Cross blood donor. Rod enjoyed golf, baseball, diving and was a world traveler. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 37 years; blessed with daughters Lisa Sikes of Coopersburg, and Anitra Winkler, wife of Fred Winkler Jr. from Hellertown; siblings, Tom Buffington of Newnan, GA, Brenda Buffington of Lemoyne and Cindy Ireland of Fleetwood; stepmother, Mary Buffington of Fleetwood; Grandchildren, Travis, Eric, Mason & Trinity. Predeceased by his stepfather Charles McMinn. Services: Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 13 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, 326 Main Street, Hellertown, followed by a service at 3:00 PM.
