MADISON – Piper Moore is the 2024 Staff Member of the Year at James Clemens High School.

“I was a stay-at-home mom for 15 years, volunteered in the schools and served as PTA president at the school and district level,” Moore said. In 2019, Moore started working for James Clemens as a permanent substitute teacher. She then accepted the position of school secretary at James Clemens in 2022.

She has worked for Madison City Schools as a full-time employee at James Clemens. “I was a substitute teacher in the district for many years before I started looking for a full-time job. I am currently the school/administrative secretary,” Moore said.

Her work philosophy is based on the Golden Rule. “Treat others as I would like to be treated,” Moore said. “Show kindness and don’t let the little things bother you.”

A positive performance for Moore resulted when leadership changed at James Clemens. She is proud to have built such a great relationship with Dr. in a short time. Kerry Donaldson (as director). When Dr. Brian Clayton left mid-year, we all had big shoes to fill and a lot to learn.”

“I believe we have done an excellent job navigating the year and its challenges together. In our positions and in our work area, it requires a lot of trust, communication, honesty and respect,” said Moore.

Moore grew up in the small town of Oneonta.

She is married to Shane Moore. Their daughter, Maddie Moore, is a senior at Auburn University.

During his free time, Piper Moore enjoys relaxing by the lake. She also likes to ‘work out’ and spend some time in the gym. A special diversion for Moore is weekends in Auburn with her family and friends.
