End of the week rain break

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – The first round of scattered showers and storms will conclude tonight. There will be a brief respite from the rain and humidity before a new front brings the next round of rain.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A few showers and storms remain possible in the evening, which look set to end after midnight. Lows will drop to near 70 degrees.

THURSDAY: There may be a few light, remnant showers along the passing cold front Thursday morning. Ahead of the next front, the wind will turn westward, which will bring warmer air by the afternoon. We expect highs to reach the low 90s.

FRIDAY/WEEKEND: Lower humidity will be the story for a short period of time on Friday and Saturday as drier air pushes in from the north. We don’t expect any rain either, with a mostly clear sky! Another front is in the pipeline by Sunday… so at least there are scattered storms in the forecast again on Sunday afternoon.
