RUSH ANNOUNCES 2024-25 SEASON SCHEDULE

(RAPID CITY, SD) — The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Calgary Flames, has announced its 2024-2025 season schedule. Rapid City will play 72 games, with the first being Saturday, October 19 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Here’s what you need to know about the 2024-2025 schedule:

  • HOME OPENER: The Rush will meet the rival Utah Grizzlies for home opening weekend on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 at 7:05 PM MDT. Rapid City went 4-1-1 in their last six games against the Grizzlies last season.
  • BOOKENDS: Rapid City’s home opener (October 25) and home finale (April 12) are both against Utah. Other than those two series, the Grizzlies will not make any trips to The Monument.
  • HAPPY NEW YEAR: Rapid City plays its annual New Year’s Eve game at home against the Tulsa Oilers on December 31. It is the team’s only Tuesday game of the year.
  • NEW BLOOD: With the addition of the Tahoe Knight Monsters to the ECHL and the Mountain Division in 2024-25, the Rush will make their first appearance in the state of Nevada in franchise history. Rapid City plays March 6, 8 and 9 at the Tahoe Blue Event Center. Tahoe comes to South Dakota on January 10, 11 and 12.
  • MOUNTAIN DIVISION ENEMIES: 63 of the Rush’s 72 games are against the seven Mountain Division opponents: Allen, Idaho, Kansas City, Tahoe, Tulsa, Utah and Wichita. All seven of those teams play at least three times in Het Monument.
  • BUSY NOVEMBER: The Rush take the ice fourteen times in November, with eight home games, both season highs for each month.
  • Hello, IDAHO: For the third consecutive season, the Idaho Steelheads will be the Rush’s most common opponent. The Rush and Steelheads will meet 14 times – the same number as the last two years – with nine games taking place in Boise. Rush Head Coach and General Manager Scott Burt won two Kelly Cups with Idaho as a player and was part of the Steelheads’ coaching staff before taking over in Rapid City.
  • DIRECTION EAST: The Rush face the South Carolina Stingrays for the first time in franchise history on December 6, 7 and 8 in North Charleston. It is the team’s only trip to the Eastern time zone this season. Rapid City played in South Carolina State last season when it faced the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. On the other hand, the Maine Mariners come to town for the first time on February 14, 15 and 16. Former Rush forward and current Mariners head coach Terrence Wallin is returning to Rapid City.
  • MINI SERIES: There are two instances of the Rush playing the same team two weeks in a row. The Rush will head to Boise in November before hosting the Steelheads on November 22 and 23. After the All-Star Break, Rapid City hosts Allen on Jan. 24 and 25 before turning around to fly to Texas the following week.
  • WARRIORS: During the Rush’s annual “Stock Show Road Trip,” the team will spend 19 days between home dates in late January through early February, the longest stretch of the season. It’s one of only three multi-week road trips for the Rush this season.
  • GAME TIMES: Of the 36 home games in the 2024-25 ECHL season, 26 will be played on Friday and Saturday evenings, with an even split of 13 games per day. The other ten home games fall on Tuesday (1), Wednesday (4), Thursday (2) and Sunday (3). Unless otherwise noted, all Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday games will begin with puck drops at 7:05 PM MDT, while Sunday games will begin at 4:05 PM MDT. The only exception is the start at 4:05 PM on Saturday, December 14. ALL DATES AND TIMES SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
