Sussex County Governor’s Task Force Arrests Woman on Drug Possession After Traffic Stop in Seaford – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police arrested a 31-year-old Jasmine Thomas of Bridgeville, Delaware, on drug charges following a traffic stop in Seaford yesterday afternoon.

On June 6, 2024, at approximately 1 p.m., members of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, along with probation and parole officers from Delaware, were patrolling the area of ​​Concord Road in Seaford when they observed a white Oldsmobile Silhouette traveling westbound on Concord . Away. A computer search of the Oldsmobile’s Delaware registration revealed that the tag had been suspended for lack of insurance. Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the Oldsmobile and made contact with the four occupants of the vehicle, one of whom was identified as Jasmine Thomas. A consensual search of the Oldsmobile was conducted after the driver was notified that the uninsured and suspended vehicle would be towed. The search led to the discovery of empty bags of suspected heroin, which led to an investigation into the probable cause of Thomas’ book bag. A search of the book bag revealed the following:

  • About 4.26 grams of crack cocaine
  • About 4.28 grams of cocaine
  • 85 bags containing approximately 0.595 grams of heroin
  • $2,966 in suspected drug trafficking proceeds

Thomas was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 5 where she was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on her own recognizance.

  • Possession with intent to deliver a counterfeit or controlled substance (felony) – 3 counts
  • Possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance without a prescription – 3 counts
