In the 18th match of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first against Uganda at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

In the ongoing clash between both teams, WI started their innings well and the openers provided a much-needed start until Brandon King, the West Indian opener, was dismissed by Ugandan spinner Alpesh Ramjani.

Nicholas Pooran made a dramatic entrance at number three, launching a monstrous six against Ramjani in the 5th over. Pooran kneeled and plodded a full delivery just outside stump over deep mid-wicket for another maximum, coming off the line in style.

West Indies will want to win this match against Uganda by a significant margin to increase their net run rate. Pooran’s dismissal could hinder their progress towards a big total.
