Although FC Barcelona did not win any prizes in the last campaign, the 2023-2024 season was still a very fruitful season for some players. This was especially the case for young winger Lamine Yamal, who was clearly the breakout star for the Catalan team and one of the best young players in Europe.

Now that the club season has ended, the youngster can continue to create records with his national team, as he has been dubbed Spain’s final squad list for UEFA EURO 2024.

He is younger than some other notable talents, such as Warren Zaire-Emery and Arda Guler, who are also participating in this tournament.

If SPORT has noted, Yamal can break several records in this tournament, as he already did last year with FC Barcelona.

Thus, the Spanish youngster, who is 16 years and 338 days old on the day the competition starts on June 15, can become the youngest player to play in the final phase of the European Championship if he takes part in the match between Spain and Croatia at 19e June.

This record is currently held by the Pole Mateusz Klich, who made his debut at the age of 17 years and 246 days.

Moreover, if Spain can reach the final of the tournament and Yamal takes the field in that ultimate match, he could become the youngest finalist in the history of the competition. Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches currently holds this record.

If Yamal can score in any of his side’s matches, he will also become the youngest goalscorer in UEFA EURO history, breaking the record set by Italian Pietro Anastasi, who scored at the ages of 20 and 63 in 2013 .1968.

Lamine Yamal set several records with Barcelona last season, in almost all the competitions he played in. Hopefully he can now achieve even more glory with Spain before returning to the Catalan club for next season.
